COMMUNITY CHIPPING  PROGRAM

The Deer Springs Fire Safe Council's (DSFSC) Community Chipping Project provides on-site chipping of vegetation that has been removed by residents to establish or maintain defensible space per California Public Resources Code (PRC) Section 4291. The chipping service has operated for more than 10 years and provides the service at no cost to the property owner provided they meet the requirement for defensible space preparation. Please see our Property Owner Guidelines and the photos of good and bad piles here for more information. If you mail your paperwork to the PO box, please email us also to establish initial contact. We only check the PO box once a week so you could encounter a delay or miss out on an already scheduled event.

Do You Live Within The Deer Springs Fire District?

This service is available to residents of the Deer Springs Fire Protection District only. Please check the map below to see if you reside within the district. If you are unsure, please contact us at chipping@dsfsc.org for assistance.
