T here are few things more frustrating than lack of information during an incident such as a fire, severe weather, or an earthquake. Sources of information for the public have become significantly better and numerous in recent years as incidents and disasters seem to be increasing in impact. The sources and services listed below provide timely information on incidents within San Diego County. They should all have a place in your preparedness plans.

    Don't misss a Reverse 9-1-1 emergency call!


    The San Diego County Reverse 9-1-1 system only automatically calls landline numbers. If you have a Voice over IP (VoIP) or cellular telephone and would like to be notified over that device, or if you would like an email notification, you must register those telephone numbers and/or email address for notification by the system.


  • DIAL 2-1-1

    During a major event such as a wildfire, dialing 2-1-1 will access current event information.


    As a local non-profit operating 24 hours a day, 365 days each year, 211 San Diego is the region’s trusted source for access to community, health, social, and disaster services. By simply dialing 211 the call is free, confidential and available in more than 200 languages. 211 provides access to 6,000+ services, resources and programs through our online database.

  • CAL FIRE - Statewide

    Current fire information from CAL FIRE for incidents throughout the state as well as the state Twitter feed.

  • Inciweb

    Inciweb displays information on major fire incidents in the U.S. updated at least daily during an incident.
