INCIDENT ALERTING APPS

PulsePoint Respond

PulsePoint is a free app for IOS and Android devices. Fire and EMS dispatches are relayed immediately and users are notified with a unique alert tone on their mobile devices.

This instruction guide will allow users to install PulsePoint and configure it for their preferences. Its examples are primarily focused on use by residents of the Deer Springs Fire Protection District but are sufficiently general to be used in all locations.

Installation, configuration, and operation are actually quite easy. Once the user becomes familiar with use, it provides a valuable tool for fire safety situational awareness that is available 24/7.

Watch Duty

Watch Duty is free and a fairly recent addition to the wildfire notification apps. It displays a map of the western states showing all confirmed vegetation fires. It sends notifications of wildfire location once a fire is confirmed then periodically updates with information directly from the scene via radio traffic. It is available for both IOS and Android devices and there is a version for your desktop browser. It is REALLY a must have for those living in wildfire country.

While the basic app is free, they are they are a 501(c)(3) non-profit and gladly take donations to help defray costs. They also offer memberships (currently $25/year) that provide additional features and capabilities.
